Dog Leads Galore!🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺 New Knotty's & a Crochet Workshop at Vale House

Dog Leads Galore!

On Wednesday, we hosted a corporate macramé workshop in Brighton, where 30 complete beginners created chunky macramé dog leads in a relaxed & fun environment. Everyone selected their favourite colours, & there was a lovely buzz in the air as people shared photos & stories about their dogs. We hope to return to this wonderful company soon with another corporate workshop!

So much preparation goes on behind the scenes for these workshops. We pre-cut the yarn, attached it to trigger clips with the first knot already in place & provided a visual crib sheet. We’ve also created a video tutorial for participants to follow at home. But all the work that goes into these events feels so worthwhile when you see such joy in the room!

If you've previously attended one of our chunky macramé dog lead workshops & would like a free video tutorial to make another at home, please get in touch & we’ll be happy to give you the exclusive link.

This chunky dog lead will also be available as a kit soon - watch this space!

If you would like to attend a dog lead workshop, please let us know & we will add you to our waiting list.

After School Crafting Magic

At this term’s Craft Clubs, we've been busy creating a variety of handmade products - from crochet water bottle holders & finger-knitted bags to decorative macramé letter wall hangings.

More recently, our after-school clubs (for children ages 6–12) have been focused on making macramé accessories. Over the past couple of weeks, the children have loved designing & crafting their own pieces. Variations on our signature Knotty necklace were especially popular, creations included hair clips, brooches, badges, & keyrings. It’s been wonderful to see such fantastic craftsmanship & creativity on display.

All the prep work behind the scenes is worth it when we see how proud the kids are of their creations. It’s always a lot of fun! We even received a lovely email from a parent this week saying, “Thanks so much for teaching him - it's his favourite time of the week.”

If you’d like to make your own knotty necklace, don’t forget it's available as a kit here.

We’ll also be running a Knotty brooch workshop at Knit & Stitch this Autumn - stay tuned for details!

Crochet Baskets at Vale House Lodges

Last Sunday, we returned to the beautiful Vale House Lodges in Findon for a day of crochet basket-making. It was a gorgeous sunny day & such a pleasure to spend time crafting together!

Most attendees were beginners, & it was amazing to see the range of beautiful baskets they created. Some chose bespoke colourways; a custom option we offer at all workshops & with kit purchases. A few attendees even bought extra yarn refills so they could keep creating at home - we can't wait to see their continued work & new colour combinations.

Jo, who runs Vale House Lodges with her husband, joined us for her first-ever crochet session. She thoughtfully selected colours to match her dog! It was so lovely to have her as part of the group. We all sat around the table, chatting, connecting, & sharing stories about our families. It was a truly warm & inspiring day of creativity.

Our next crochet workshop will be at Sussex Prairies Wild on Thursday 5th June where we will be running a Crochet Basket & Sophie Bag workshop
