A Tranquil Sunday at Pitfield Barn - In the Heart of the Countryside! 🥀🌼🐝

At the start of the month, we had the pleasure of hosting our beautiful bespoke Macramé Vase Cover Workshop & Cut Flower Experience at Pitfield Barn near Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. With birdsong in the air & the sun trying its very best to break through, it was a peaceful, relaxed Sunday - the perfect setting to reconnect with creativity & nature.

The day began with a guided tour of the flower fields. Emma, one of Pitfield’s owners, shared her passion for sustainable, locally grown blooms, all cultivated with a “grown, not flown” ethos that supports pollinators & reduces flower miles. We love collaborating with Emma (& everything Pitfield Barn stands for). After the tour, we returned to the workshop space for tea, coffee & homemade cake - which went down a treat!

Paula then guided everyone through creating macramé vase covers using soft, 100% recycled cotton cord in a variety of colourways. The designs wrap around vintage apothecary jars, making for unique, one-of-a-kind vases. Everyone had the opportunity to handpick their own bouquets that Emma had prepared, a personal touch that brought every arrangement to life.

Pitfield Barn are a member of Flowers from the Farm - a network of flower growers. They have a website (see button below) where you can find the nearest grower to where you live, so you can then buy flowers from the growers direct.

Pitfield Barn also have a Stable Kitchen coffee shop that is open Thursday & Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm & Saturday 9.00am to 3.30pm.

They will also be opening as part of the NGS (National Garden Scheme) on 10th August – entrance £6.00. There will be coffee/tea & cake available with donations to the Alzheimer's Society. They will be doing walkabouts & chats about the Flower Fields from 12pm to 4pm.
We hope to be there too!

Whether it was their first time joining us or they had been on one of our workshops before, it was a joy to see both familiar & new faces. We were delighted to receive this review from Kristy, one of our attendees (see image above).

Thanks to everyone who has left us a review, for a small business such as ours your reviews make a big difference, so if you can spare a few minutes to leave us one here, we would be grateful.

We’re already planning to run these workshops again next year, but if you’re keen to join us sooner, let us know - we may be able to add an extra session at the end of July.
